What is the Ranch? Community Ranch, Farm and Open Source School
Create a new way of “developing” small housing communities and offer much more than just a lot and or a cookie cutter home. People will be able to own, design and build what they like within agreed upon limits of not damaging the environment or community. The community will offer many business opportunities along with self sustainable foods, construction materials, education, tools and labor. Over time the Ranch eventually will be capable of providing a community with all it needs not only to survive but thrive.
Organize a group of Bitcoin maxis to develop an improved way of governance and of communal living and sharing in general. Promoting a circular Bitcoin economy and educating people on Health, Regenerative Ranching, Permaculture, Aquaculture, Off Grid Power and Communications, Organic Construction and all of Bitcoin and it’s factions. Construction of an event site, school classrooms and a community of supporters that will eventually be able to live self sustainable on ranch resources.
Why the Ranch is Open Source
Sharing what we find works or does not work we can help educate others globally. We already have large network of regenerative ranchers, paermaculturist and citadel builders that have shared with us. We will use many methods of experimenting and learning with the intention of sharing all with whomever is interested. Physical classes of ranching, farming, building, bitcoin, live and recorded streams to assist in teaching by example.
Conserving the knowledge of the “old” ways of living organically on the planet while using new technology to improve living and share what is learned. Create an example of a better way to live environmentally in a circular economy on a Bitcoin Standard. Educate people on how to learn and educate themselves and not just what to know. Build confidence and knowledge in many aspects of life through experiences in nature as well as physically improve health while learning better ways to live.
Where is the Ranch, location, climate, geography
La Paz, Baja California Sur, United States of Mexico
Many refer to Baja as being all desert but truth is just south of the ranch is the Tropic of Cancer. This is where the desert meets the tropics on a peninsula that is like a 3 sided island 1000 miles long. There are also mountain ranges, highest up to 7500′, the Sierra Laguna aka “Islands in the sky” where it rains daily for months in the wet season. We do receive very little annual rain but there is a very heavy dew most mornings that not only irrigate plants but hydrate animals. The rains from the Sierra Laguna provides underground rivers which run along 2 sides of the ranch.
Located on the Pacific Ocean, 1 km from coastline on a mesa (flat top hill) with steady sea breezes almost year round. Daytime temperature ranges from 70-90 degrees year round with winds making it feel cooler. Winter is generally in February- April with strong north winds most days. The wet season is mid August to mid October which is the hurricane “Chubassco” season. It is only during these wet months that we have high humidity and temperatures. Most of the year is mild temperature with only the winds making it cooler in spring, which are our cooler months February and March.
How we plan to do this for now…
Specifics of how we distribute the business opportunities is yet to be determined by the original founders and will evolve over time and with experimentation. While the ranch will provide accommodations for events it is very likely residents will be encouraged to provide guest housing as well for additional income. Management, cleaning and reservations could be handled directly by ranch or yet another company from within community. There is much left to be decided upon by the founding members and or residents. I believe the ranch should mostly act as a provider of space for activities and businesses to flourish in a circular Bitcoin economy. Some residents come with greater wealth and are closer to retiring and will pay for other younger residents to earn bitcoin, food and a piece of of the ranch for themselves if they so wish.
I have many ideas and knowledge of Mexican laws to some extent and I’ll create a Mexican Corporation with the Ranch lands (400sqm 1000acres) donated to the inventory and the investor, residents will receive shares in this corporation for their investment. The founders will be shareholders and therefore of the entire resource known as the ranch. The governance of this community is yet to be determined by the founders and must be changeable by consensus or a modified consensus in order to change with times.
Governance of community consensus that scales. Rules without rulers. How to set basic guideline that allows for freedom for all while protecting the people’s and land’ s rights. Rules based on protecting individuals, communities rights to live freely while not damaging the environment.
